One of the unique aspects of starting a company is that you literally have EVERYTHING to do! The everything I am referring to includes all the things you might usually consider: Raising capital, hiring great people, building the tech, and company infrastructure, setting up and executing on sales and marketing, etc., etc.
But one of the areas we don’t always consider right away is one of the greatest contributors to the success of any company. I am talking about the culture of the company. It is so easy to get mired in the day-to-day operational duties of building and running a company that it is easy to overlook this massively important component. Company culture dictates how we support each other, respond to victories, defeats, and challenges, and interact with customers and partners. Our team at BTP Automation is our most valuable asset. They are all owners and have an amazing sense of stewardship over “their baby.”
Fortunately, company culture can be implied and developed organically over time using the traits of the people hired by the company. This is why it is so important to find the right fit when hiring. It is about so much more than just the requisite skill set. It is why we are so fortunate at BTP to have the team we have, the culture we have created, and the amazing opportunity in front of us.
